Resumen: Thc work heing reporteo had as its main aim the evaluation of correlations between COD and J toughness and Charpy V toughness, in the heat atlected zone (liAZ) of welds in a Q&T steel (WEL-TFN 60). A correlation hetween hardness and Charpy V toughness was also investigated. Welds were performed by submerged are welding in a K joint preparation in order to produce a straight fusion line facilitating the extraction of Charpy V, COD and J specimens. Charpy V toughness tends to decrease with the incrcase of prior austenite grain size and shows a linear corrclation with Hv5 hardness. Linear corrclations were also estahlished hetween charpy V toughness and COD and integral J parameters. The last two parameters can be correlated in a linear way.
