Resumen: The PMMM/Si is a acrylic óisting dispersion based on the poli-methyl methacrylate aided with a fine dispersion of 60% by volume silica. Currently, this material is used in sanitary ware and kitchen sinks where are submitted with severe temperature variations originated by the altemated flows of cold and hot water. Sometimes, occur fracture in service on the kitchen sinks manufactured with these materials. These fractures seems to be originated by thermal stresses and occur generally at the boles. In thís work are presented the results of the frrst phase of one project where are studied the fracture conditions in the region of the holes. The results presented are the mechanical properties (yield stress and the Young's modulus) and the fracture mechanical parameters Kc e Gc calculated for the range of temperatures between 20 e 100°C for two chemical compositions of the material
