Resumen: Martensitic steels with 9 % Cr (ASME grade P 9 1) and 12 % Cr (DIN X 20 Cr Mo V 12 1) are currently bended and welded by Stein Industrie. For our purpose it was necessary to know the crack growth laws of these materials and weldments. The authors have studied the threshold values and crack growth rates for weldments at 20ºC and 550ºC for R = 0,1. The results show an increase of the crack growth rate of a factor 3 between room temperature and C. Moreover at 550°C the influence of the ratio R has been studied only for base material in the range of 0,05 and 0,9. The results show a linear decrease of threshold value relating to R according to the relation AKo ( R) = ( 1- o{R) AKo (o).
